St Patrick’s College Townsville is an all-girls Catholic independent educational community in the Mercy tradition. Our Mission is to promote fullness of life and nurture excellence in learning for all young women in a joyful environment. Our ocean-front campus offers an intimate atmosphere where young women can explore the many academic, cultural and sporting opportunities available to them. The College’s state-of-the-art facilities and purpose-built teaching and learning spaces are set amongst lush, tropical gardens.
St Patrick’s College Townsville has over 115 years’ experience in educating women of the future through challenging stereotypes and providing a platform for young women to take charge of their future. They were proud to have this acknowledged in the Australian Education Awards in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 through various honours, including Regional School of the Year, Best STEM Program, and Best Co-Curricular Program – Arts.
St Patrick’s College’s transformative impact of an education is underpinned by Mercy values of courage, compassion, love, justice, integrity, joy, hospitality and respect. These values are intrinsic not only to our curriculum and formation programs, they live in our interactions with students and their families because we understand the power of role modelling in forming young women who go on to make a difference in the world. There is something unique about the ‘feel’ of St Patrick’s College Townsville. Our students are joyous, relational, welcoming and refreshingly real. They are encouraged to develop agency and voice, and are confident to express their authentic selves, with boundless opportunities in and out of the classroom, to develop not only their talents and skills, but experience success across ranging contexts. Importantly, our students are supported by highly experienced educators, who understand the balance between innovation and tried and true strategies, as well as high standards of challenge, mixed with care, humor and joy. They provide high impact instruction, clear success criteria and feedback for growth, inviting students to make connections between their learning, our values and contemporary events, such that learning is deeply relevant. Curriculum offerings are wide ranging across Arts, English, Health, Humanities, Mathematics and Technology.
