You will need to make a submission for each directory that you wish to be entered into.

Simply click on the relevant directory below and complete the submission form.

Please complete as much information as you can. Your submission will be sent to our administrators who will check your entry and once approved you will be added to the online directory.

Online Directory Eligibility, Privacy and Consent

Individuals, groups, not for profit organisations or particular businesses are eligible for entry onto the Community Information Centre Townsville Resource Directories where those organisations meeting the following criteria outlined below.

All contributors must reside in the Townsville City Council Local Government area or provide significant support to the local community. The inclusion of an entry is at the complete discretion of the Community Information Centre management and is final.

Eligibility for the Following Directories are:

Community Directory: not-for-profit businesses or organisations and/or government funded service providers, who provide services that are free, or have minimal/subsidised costs.
*Please note – For Profit NDIS Providers will only be placed in the NDIS Provider category

Learning Directory:   Not-for-Profit businesses or organisations and/or government funded service providers, who provide community learning opportunities that are free, or have minimal/subsidised costs. Fee for service organisations and businesses whose primary/sole purpose is to provide a community learning opportunity may be eligible, particularly where there are limited community-based options available.
* Please note: Sporting businesses or clubs who offer training will be incorporated into the Recreation Directory only

Recreation Directory: Not-for-Profit businesses or organisations and/or government funded service providers, who provide community based recreational opportunities that are free, or have minimal/subsidised costs. Small fee for service organisations and businesses whose primary/sole purpose is to provide recreational, sporting and opportunities to the community may be eligible, particularly where there are limited community-based options available. 

Venues:  venues, operated by either not-for-profit or fee for service businesses or organisations, that are for hire by members of the community.
Creative and Performing Artist Registry – Individuals, groups or organisations involved in any creative or performing arts where skills and services are available for hire, commission, volunteer etc.

Use of Information

The information provided for this Townsville Resource Directory will be made available online. The Community Information Centre will not use the information to provide recommendations about profitable ventures or unfairly promote one group or individual over another.  Listings will be displayed in alphabetical order as per Directory an Category.

The Community Information Centre is the copyright holder, publisher and committed coordinator of the Townsville Community Resource Directory. All Intellectual Property associated with the Directory is wholly owned by the CIC.

There is no charge for including your information in the Directory. The listing will be:

  • Entered in the CIC’s databases and will be available to anyone who requires information about services, service providers, health care professionals etc through the online platform: cictownsville.com.au.
  • Published in the Townsville Community Resource Directory as well as being available on the Community Information Centre Website i.e. www.cictownsville.com.au
  • Subscribed to the CIC mailing list for communication and updates

Apart from the purposes stated above, the personal details provided by contributors will not be released for use in any other manner without their permission unless required by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary.

The Community Information Centre Townsville Inc. assumes no responsibility for the use of your publicly available details by Directory users, site users and browsers.

Privacy Notice

Community Information Centre collects and manages personal information in the course of performing its activities, functions and duties. We respect the privacy of the personal information held by us. The way in which we manage personal information is governed by the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld). We are collecting your personal information in accordance with Local Government Act 2009 so that we can include your organisation, business or group on the Townsville Resource Directory. Generally, we will not disclose your personal information outside of Council unless we are required to do so by law, or unless you have given us your consent to such disclosure. However, in performing the above functions, some personal information may be published in the Directory, and disclosed to IT provider Mitchel Creative.For further information about how we manage your personal information please see our Information Privacy Policy.
