Thuringowa State High School has developed a fine tradition for academic excellence, sporting and cultural achievement and a vibrant community spirit. It is especially noted for its small size and range of opportunities including; the Queensland Virtual Academy, an iSTEM program for Years 7 – 10 to extend and engage students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, representative rugby league, Australian rules football, netball, basketball, football (soccer) girls and boys sporting teams, a strong instrumental music programme, an acclaimed Theatre Restaurant and a very successful and pioneering Vocational Education Program. Our students come from varied social, cultural and economic backgrounds and we provide initiatives designed to cater for the needs of all students. The school has developed a strong tradition of providing its students with a large number of educational opportunities with an emphasis on development and extension of the individual.
