Saver Plus is a free financial education program that matches your savings, dollar for dollar up to $500. It is a free 10 month saving program providing financial education, budgeting and savings tips. The program has helped over 45,000 Australians save over $18 million dollars since 2003 and delivered by The Smith Family in Townsville. The $500 can be used for educational items such as laptops & tablets, uniforms & shoes, vocational education, lessons and activities, books and supplies and camps and excursions.
To join you must meet the criteria
-Be 18 years or over
-Have a child at school or studying yourself
-Have a current Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card
-Be in receipt of an eligible Commonwealth social security benefit, allowance or payment
-Have regular income other than the Commonwealth benefit eg, paid employment, a partner’s income, child support (contact the local coordinator to confirm as many types are eligible.)
