Life Ed QLD focuses on the key influences on a child’s health and wellbeing, including nutrition, cyber safety, alcohol, smoking, drugs, bullying, emotional health, and relationships. Life Ed QLD also runs the innovative Healthy Eats program focused on increasing fruit and veg consumption in primary school aged kids.
Individual modules are tailored to deliver to early education and primary school students. All modules are aligned with the Australian curriculum for health and physical activity and are developed to support teachers reach these specific learning outcomes. Our modules empower children with the skills they need to make healthier lifestyle choices. Within each module, teachers are able to identify the key learning outcomes they would like the Life Ed Qld educator to focus on during their session.
Our program provides students with age-appropriate health and safety knowledge, skills and strategies to counter peer and social pressures, an understanding of how values and attitudes can influence lifestyle choices and behaviour, interactive online teacher resources with lesson plans and activities, and animated videos with relevant themes.
The award-winning Healthy Eats program, is facilitated by Life Ed Qld’s Community Development Officers and spanning the full school year. Healthy Eats works with schools, parents and community partners, to provide a whole school, place-based approach to healthy eating. Healthy Eats aims to empower children to make healthier food choices now and throughout their lives.
