A local and regional community organization of its members to encourage artists to enjoy, learn and sell their artwork. The Townsville Art Society operates a classroom, library, the ‘Art at Jezzine’ gallery at the Jezzine Barracks precinct and a pop-up gallery at Castletown Shopping Centre. Classes and workshops operate from the dedicated classroom at Jezzine.
The Society, in conjunction with the Townsville City Council and Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, organizes the prestigious Art Awards each year to promote artistic excellence in our community.
