Coast Guard volunteers perform a range of rescues from sinking vessels, vessels with mechanical problems & often tow disabled vessels back to safe harbour. Coast Guard is often called upon to perform Medivac responses to hard to reach islands & to provide crucial search & rescue functions for persons who may be lost or missing at sea or other waterways, from Cape Bowling Green to Barber Isle to Continental Shelf.
