Wounded Heroes Veteran Centre – Townsville (Hyde Park)

The Wounded Heroes Veteran Centre Townsville is a safe, welcoming hub dedicated to supporting Australian Defence Force (ADF) members, veterans and their families, while also serving the wider Townsville community.

At the heart of our work is 24/7 Immediate Financial Crisis Support, providing urgent assistance for veterans and families facing homelessness, food insecurity, family and domestic violence, or acute financial distress. Our national crisis line operates day and night, ensuring help is available when it is needed most — not just during business hours.

Located at Hyde Park, the Centre also features Jim’s Café, a relaxed, inclusive space designed to foster connection, conversation and community. It’s a place where veterans can reconnect, families can feel supported, and locals are warmly welcomed.

Alongside the café, our OPShop offers quality pre-loved goods at affordable prices, with every purchase directly supporting frontline veteran crisis services.

Together, the Veteran Centre, Jim’s Café and OPShop create a unique community-focused model — delivering immediate crisis support, restoring dignity, and strengthening connection across Townsville and North Queensland.
