The Spinal Outreach Team (SPOT) supports people affected by spinal cord injury throughout Queensland by providing quality, timely, and client-focussed consultancy, early intervention, and education services in the areas of social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and nursing. The service is based in Brisbane and offers services in Townsville and other regions of the state.
SPOT is a free service providing assistance to people who:
- have been inpatients of the Queensland Spinal Injuries Unit at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
- have been reviewed by the medical officers of the Queensland Spinal Injuries Unit
- are carers and family members of people with spinal cord injury who meet the above criteria
- are health professionals working with people with spinal cord injury
