Responsible for providing high quality, integrated early childhood education and care services for all Queensland children from birth to twelve years, recognising the intrinsic link that exists between early education and child care and bringing together responsibility for both under the one agency for the first time.

Responsible for regulating and licensing early childhood and care services in Queensland (formerly the responsibility of the Department of Communities).

Additionally the ECEC team also helps to build partnerships between schools, ECEC services, NGOs and other stakeholders within the early childhood sphere to help support and promote the importance of transition to school and improving outcomes our children.
