Division 7 – Councillor
Kurt Rehbein was born in Townsville and raised in Ayr where his parents owned a convenience store. At age 15, he moved to Mackay to start a cabinet-making apprenticeship and returned to Townsville at 19 to complete his apprenticeship.
At age 21, Cr Rehbein joined the RAAF as a Military Working Dog Handler and was posted back to RAAF Base Townsville.
Cr Rehbein discharged from the full-time service in the RAAF in 2016 and took up a position in the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and served as a Firefighter for the next ten years at various stations around Townsville.
Cr Rehbein was elected in the 2016 Local Government elections. He loves his current role and enjoys making decisions for the betterment of the Townsville community.
Outside his professional life, Cr Rehbein enjoys spending time with his wife, Tracey, and their four young children, going fishing, playing guitar, renovating furniture and going to the gym.
