The Zonta Club of Townsville Inc is part of Zonta International whose main objective is to empower women through service and advocacy for Women’s Rights as Human Rights and Gender Equity.
It is a world-wide organisation of women executives in business and the professions.
Local service projects include:
- Breast Cancer Cushions
- Care Packs for the AIS
- Starter packs for women leaving shelters post domestic violence
- Packing of birthing kits for Developing Countries
- Providing Achievement Awards for Year 11 Female Students
- Fundraising programs for United Nations Women and other service projects
