OBJECTS: To support the retention and promotion of Scottish culture and heritage in Townsville.

The Townsville Scottish Community Inc. achieves these objects by holding events to inform the wider community of the current presence and significant historical impact of Scottish people in our city and by assisting established Scottish groups such as pipe bands and dance organisations to promote their activities. Our Facebook page is a conduit for communication supporting Scottish people during personal need, e.g. at funerals; introducing homesick Scots to others; and providing well organised traditional functions for Scots to come together to celebrate significant Scottish days.

Townsville Scottish Community Inc. conducts the following annual events including Townsville Tartan Day (approx. 10,000 people attended in 2019); Clansmen’s Ceilidh; Burns at Carlyle and Scots Who Have Served on Anzac Day plus several smaller, informal social events each year.
