Cowboys Community Foundation is the charitable arm of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, working to create positive and lasting social change across North Queensland through education, wellbeing and employment‑focused programs.
The Foundation delivers a suite of outcomes‑driven initiatives that remove barriers and create opportunities for individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage. Programs focus on supporting young people to engage in education, build life skills, develop resilience and transition successfully into employment or further training.
A flagship initiative of the Foundation is NRL Cowboys House, which provides culturally safe, supported accommodation for over 100 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from some of North Queensland’s most remote and educationally disadvantaged communities. NRL Cowboys House enables students to access secondary education in Townsville while receiving wraparound support across education, wellbeing, cultural connection and post‑school pathways.
Beyond NRL Cowboys House, the Cowboys Community Foundation delivers a range of community‑based programs including, but not limited to, Dream, Believe, Achieve, an award‑winning education‑to‑employment pathway offering nationally recognised training, mentoring and work experience; Try for 5!, a unique and targeted school engagement and attendance initiative; and Try Time!, which supports senior secondary students with education on key life topics The Foundation also works closely with schools and community organisations through initiatives such as Adopt‑a‑School, hospital and wellbeing visits through Cowboys in Capes, and community health and connection events including the Obe Geia Challenge.
