Anne Walsh is a local artist born and raised in Townsville. Growing up in North Queensland, her playground was the beaches, creeks and Magnetic Island where her family frequently took their boat to visit her Grandparents every weekend. That environment and childhood experiences has had a large influence in her artwork, with seascapes and water scenes a common feature in her work and leading to several Awards. Anne’s love of Portraiture, both people and pets is also another genre she has a passion for and has been a finalist in the Percival Portrait Prize three times.
She works in several mediums of oils, pastels or acrylics and has exhibited her work both in Solo and Joint exhibitions over the past 20 years.
Anne has been an Art Instructor for the past 11 years and has conducted drawing and acrylic workshops/classes at the Townsville City Council and Townsville Art Society. She presently holds weekly art classes at 419 Ross River Road, Cranbrook, as well as private group workshops and continues to paint on a regular basis for Gallery and commission work.
