My early creative life started on the Atherton tablelands where I was born into a family lineage of blacksmiths. I then studied pharmaceutical dispensing and many years of visual arts and design. These stages of life have contributed important developmental aspects towards my 33 years of artistic life. Having had these experiences, I am never afraid of getting “blacksmith” dirty or experimenting with combinations of different media and often use home-made liquid media with my hands and mouth with which to draw and paint. Simply put, subjects and spaces have an experience that is special to us. I’ve always believed, that like any other discipline, artists develop their art practice according to their inner directives and I have always looked at the world through a combination of educational, spiritual, and emotional lenses which has become a strong factor throughout much of my artistic life. Personally, the process of creation is the passion where these elements mesh. When I am in tune with all, my complete human experience is unlocked.
