Tropic City Toastmasters is a non-profit community organisation who has been supporting people to be confident leaders at events, on projects and in the workplace for over 40 years. We are the SAFE SPACE to practice public speaking, interviews, thinking on the spot, presentations, podcasts, giving feedback, leadership, conflict resolution, project management and many other communication skills. So what goes on at Toastmasters? At Toastmasters people select goals of communication they would like to work on. They explore their topic of interest through the latest online modules of international standard. Part of the learning, is hands on. So, our get togethers are like honing new skills with your very own ‘practice audience’. And yes, we make mistakes and yes, we have fun! We value our diversity and embrace mutual respect, inclusion, fairness and compassion. We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at Brothers Leagues Club and we welcome visitors to trial this great opportunity. As we all live busy lives, if you can’t make it in person, we have technology set up to join in via ZOOM. Toastmasters is a great way to build confidence for real world scenarios. We have been in operation for 100 years because the benefits it provides prevails over geography, demographics and languages! There are over 14,000 clubs the world over. Toastmasters not only provides life long learning, but also life long friends as it is a great place to network and socialise for any demographic over 18.
