The Reverend Charles Harris Diversionary Centre is open 24/7 to provide alternative accommodation to the Townsville Police Watch for those who are at risk to themselves or others due to intoxication.

The centre  has 28 male beds and 22 female beds; six are kept exclusively for diversions. The centre provides a safe place to sober up. Clients are closely monitored with support and guidance offered. Other agencies visit the centre and provide additional support and assistance as required including: medical, mental health, financial.
