Delta Therapy Dogs is an Australian registered charity helping animals bring joy to people for over 20 years. We deliver evidence-based Animal Assisted Interventions in partnership with hospitals, aged care facilities, healthcare facilities, schools, and businesses in Queensland, including local service delivery in Townsville.
Our four core programs; Therapy Dogs; Paws the Pressure; Classroom Canines; and Dog Safe are delivered by 1000+ trained volunteers, reaching approximately 10,000 Australians daily. The simple act of conversation and presence from a friendly Therapy Dog brings beneficiaries the positive health benefits of the human-animal bond when they need it most.
In addition to Delta Therapy Dog programs, the organisation operates the Delta Institute which is the leading accrediting body for positive reward based trainers who have undertaken the national accredited training course conducted by Delta. The Delta Institute provides support, recognition, and accreditation as well as ongoing education and peer support for graduates its courses and programs. The institute also a source of educational support for pet owners to find professional and accredited trainers as well as learn to be responsible pet owners.
